College to Career

Beginning with the end in mind as applied to college students: achieving the goal of meaningful employment, aligned to your interests, over your life-time

The problem for college freshmans:

Freshman enter college with underdeveloped organizational skills, because high schools prioritize students graduating at any cost.  Today, the opportunity cost that is being sacrificed is a student’s organizational skills.

Turning assignments in on time and showing up for class are a predictor of a student’s ability to maintain employment:

  • If you cannot turn your class assignments in on time, you will not turn your work in on time.

  • If you cannot show up reliably on time to class, you will not show up reliably on time to work

Outcome:  You will get poor grades, and ultimately get fired from your job.  --- and, if you do not get     good grades you will drop out of school.

How StudyGOAT helps:

Concept:  Freshman work-related learning prioritizes building self-reliance in skills that will keep students employed; companies would consider transactional skills such as planning and organizing.

App features:  students learn how to prioritize their assignments and turn their course work in on time.

Our rewards program recognizes students for turning their assignments in on time --- not so they get good grades,       but so they build and adopt work-related skills that will keep them employed throughout their college journey.

Lastly, we begin introducing the art of networking.  This is a program built by business professionals applying the concepts of employee engagement and adoption, and integrated by a Discord Engagement Manager through the Discord collaboration platform.

How StudyGOAT helps seniors:

Concept:  â€‹StudyGOAT enables students to have a more accurate view of skills as contextualized, culturally shaped modes of reasoning, interaction, and behavior across industries.

  • Problem-related learning activities build critical thinking skills-not to teach them how to solve work problems on the job, but to teach them how to apply problem solving skills to getting their first job out of college.

  • Lastly, we begin to recognize students who display proficient skills in the art of networking as students interact and engage other students in the events. Once the skill is demonstrated, we make the connection of how to apply networking skills for career job search and career advancement.
